A history of cars
The first car-like vehicle to be invented is credited to Frenchman Nicolas-Joseph Cugnot, although a Flemish priest named Ferdinand Verbiest in the 17th century was said to have demonstrated a steam car. The first modern car that run on gasoline however was independently developed by several German inventors – one of which was Karl Benz.
